Some of My Favorite Personal Style Tricks11:59:00 AM
Personal style is so different to following fashion trends. Personal style is wearing clothing that you love, regardless of what’s in style or what other people think. It’s knowing what suits you; styles, colors, and shapes. It’s basically just you doing you! With that in mind, here are some of my favorite personal style tricks to help you:
Know What Works on You and What Doesn’t
If you want to define your personal style, it’s important that you know what works and what doesn't. This will help you to know what suits you, and it’ll make shopping so much easier too. Go through your wardrobe and make a list of items you love and items you don’t really like. Then try to work out what it is about them that makes you feel this way. It’ll help you to know exactly what your personal style is in the long run.
Come Up With a Trademark Look
If you want other people to recognise your personal style, almost like a calling card, come up with a trademark look. For instance, you could always wear a certain style, or color. You could have an item that you frequently wear. Whatever it is, make sure you love it!
Decide on a Main Color Scheme
Deciding on a main color scheme is another great way to make shopping more efficient. You don’t need to avoid wearing certain colors, but sticking to your favorites will make it easier to put outfits together. Eventually, you should find that your clothes can all be worn together seamlessly. Pick a few good neutral colors, like black and white. Then your favorite colors, such as pink and blue.
Don’t Be Afraid of Bold Colors and Patterns
So many people are afraid of wearing bold colors and patterns, but you needn’t be! They can instantly funk up your look and make you feel great. If you want to ease yourself into it, start off small. Wear a pattern or color on your shoes/bag first. Then be more adventurous with two pieces and dresses. You’ll get all kinds of compliments. When you feel confident wearing things like that, you can even mix patterns and colors. Clashing is a big trend these days. If you’d describe your style as quite fun and edgy, clashing could be perfect for you.
Make it Interesting With Your Accessories
All outfits should be accessorized. You can make your outfit look so much better with the help of accessories. Use jewelry, bags, scarves, and hair accessories to create a fun look. Your accessories don’t even need to be expensive; you can find cheap purses online. You should try to incorporate texture into your look, as this makes it more 3dimensional. If you’re not used to accessorizing properly or wearing jewelry, give yourself one or two days a week where you have to do it. Eventually, you’ll want to do it every day!
I hope you love these personal style tricks as much as I do. Feel free to leave some of your own favorites below. Bye for now!
